Curatio 101: How to Post

Posting in the Curatio app is an essential part of the social experience. Posts are what allow you to share your thoughts, ask questions and contribute to your community.

Selecting your Community

The first step in creating a post is to verify which community you’re currently logged into. This is an important step, because many Curatio users are active in multiple communities. Your post will ONLY be able to be seen by members of the community it is posted to. You can view which community you’re currently logged into but taking a look at the drop down menu located at the top of the screen. If it says the name of the community you wish to post in, perfect! You can skip to the next step. If not, tap on the menu and select the name of the community you wish you post in from the list. After you’re in the right community, you’re ready to move on.

Choosing Your Post’s Destination

To begin creating your post, find the green button in the bottom right corner with the “+” sign. Tap that button to bring up the share menu.

This menu features all your options for creating posts. You can find your options to “Share Your Mood”, “Create a Post”, “Ask a Question” or “Challenge Your Friends”. Before selecting those options, make sure you’re sharing your post with exactly who you want to share it with. To change who you’re sharing your post with, tap “Change Recipient”. You will be given the option to share with your Community, your Circle, yourself, or specific friends.

If you want everyone in your community to be able to view your post, select the “Community” option. If you want only people who you’ve added to your circle to see a post, select the “My Circle” option. If you want to share your post with one, or multiple specific friends, select the “select friends…” option, and then choose which friend or friends you want to share your post with. Once you’ve chosen where you want your post to go, you can start creating your post.

Creating Your Post

After choosing where you want to share your post, you now have to decide: “What am I trying to post?”. You will be given the option to “Share Your Mood”, “Create a Post”, “Ask a Question” or “Challenge Your Friends”. Once you’ve decided which option best suits your post, tap it within the menu and it will bring up the creation tab.

Create a Post, Ask a Question and Challenge Your Friends

The pages to create a post, ask a question and challenge your friends are the exact same, the only difference is the intended purpose. In this page you will be given the ability to add a title to your post, add the body of your post, and attach any pictures, videos, links to websites and even your own voice. If at any point you want to escape this page, simply tap the X in the top right corner and you’re free!

If you want to post an audio clip of yourself speaking, tap the “Voice” button at the bottom and it will bring up the microphone. Simply tap the big button in the middle to start recording and tap it again when you’re finished. You can play back your recording, and tap the X to scrap it if you’re not happy, or press “Add” in the top right corner if you’d like to add it to your post.

If you want to post a picture, press the “Photo” button and it will bring up the photo library on your device. Select the photos you want to share, press the “Add” button in the top right corner and your photo will be attached to your post.

When you’re ready, simply press “Share” in the top right corner, and then “Publish post” and your post is ready to be seen!

Share Your Mood

In order to share your mood, you are given different options at the bottom of your screen. Just like before, you’re given the option to write a body of text, elaborating or adding details to your mood post. However, you’re also given the option to share your mood and energy. If you tap the heart or energy buttons at the bottom of your screen, the mood or energy indicator will appear. Simply slide your finger up and down on the heart or body icon to fill up the meter, indicating how you’re feeling. If you tap the energy icon, you can also press the arrows on either side of the body to change your mood. Whether you’re feeling like a couch potato, relaxed, active, or more, you can express exactly what you feel. When you’re done, press Share in the corner to add your meter to your post, and Share once again to post it in Curatio.
